Red Tin Roof Studio
Finding the time & inspiration
I really cherish working in my studio or delving into research for my artwork. Whether its spending time in the forests and woodlands photographing and documenting, heading to the coast and combing the beaches or just being in my garden with my chickens for company, sketching and listening to the wildlife around me, simply reconnecting.
I do find that I have to be pretty strict with myself about finding the time to switch off from the world and immerse myself into my artwork I'm creating.
There's so many other things that can be a distraction in life, good and not so good but when I am able to free my mind to paint this is truly something that helps my body, mind and soul. It heals and soothes. I feel very lucky to be able to be a professional artist, it really truly has always been, from the age of 4 years old, my passion and my ambition. .
Being able to create art has helped me through grief and illness, helped me to focus my mind to allow positive thinking in. It helps ground me and regulates my emotions when needs must .
The creative arts are such an important part of what we are as human beings.
